Lace began at 40 for me with a week long residential course on bobbin lace. I was hooked straight away. It was a marvellous way to start and on returning home I found a local class. Within a year I had discovered North Downs Lacemakers where I encountered Needlelace and lots of inspiration. I joined the Fritillary Group and became a Committee member, later becoming Chairman (twice!). I am a member of the Lace Guild and am currently a member of the Education subcommittee. I am also a member of both OIDFA and the 98 Lace Group.
I took City and Guilds Lacemaking part 1 and have exhibited work at Lace Group and North Downs Exhibitions. I now prefer to design my own pieces in both Bobbin and Needle Lace on a variety of scales. My current work is largely experimental.
