Whitchurch exhibition of lace in 2008

Northdowns Lacemakers ran an exhibition of Lace at Whitchurch Silk Mill from the 2nd of September until the 31st October 2008.

The exhibition showed examples of many different laces made by our members over the years.

We, as a Lace group try to make sure that we have members in attendance during the period of the exhibition to demonstrate our craft. Not only will we be making our own lace but have the facilities to give anyone who wishes a taster, in the hope we can promote what is a dying craft.

The Silk Mill frequently have groups from various places to show them how the Silk Mill Works, and while this exhibition was on they were also able to have workshops in Making Lace.
