Our annual lace day - 2010

Our Lace Day 2010 was a great success and we had 101 people attend. It was lovely to hear the lively buzz of happy Lacemakers round the Hall. David Turner from Church Meadow Crafts gave a delightful talk on 'How We Got There' which also included information on how the pillows are made. It was very interesting and amusing and enjoyed by all. Our Bobbin Maker was Ken Hare and his bobbins were beautiful. As we do not seem to have a picture of his stand I have a picture of the bobbins I bought from him. Doreen Gill brought her craft books for sale and our bead supplier was Baroque Beads who had a delicious table of sparkly beads. Irresistible! The Lace Guild and The Needle Lace Guild also had stands at our event. The 'Pass The Pillow Project' was there and the list of people who have 'had a go' is over 1012, so not far to go to our target of 2012. Our thanks go to all our members who attended and helped where required without them we would not have a Lace Day.

Next year is our 30th Lace Day and we hope to see you there on 24th September 2011.
